'I'm Taking My Life Back': Children Tortured past Parents Detail Their Pain
Louise Turpin and her hubby, David Turpin, were sentenced to 25 years to life in prison house for torturing 12 of their 13 children. Some of the children read statements at the hearing, detailing the years of abuse.

A California couple who tortured 12 of their thirteen children, starving and beating them, depriving them of sleep and sometimes shackling them to their beds with chains, were sentenced on Friday to 25 years to life in prison.
Some of their children gave statements at the sentencing hearing in Riverside, Calif., saying they were haunted past the corruption, but also that they had forgiven and however loved their parents. 1 daughter told a packed court that the suffering "may have been bad, but it made me potent."
